Administering of Medicines to the Patient

1. What significant insights have you learned from the topic?

I have learned that Administering of Medicines to the Patient should be carefully done. You must have the right amount of medicine (if liquid) that has been taken for the patient. The medicine should be said from the doctor, that the patient should take. The home nurse should take care of the patient, because the patient can't help his/herself in taking the medicine. Before taking the medicine make sure that the medicine is clean and the patient should take enough.

When the doctor prescribes medication you must be very careful and fully understand how to take the drugs and become knowledgeable about the full benefits and the side-effects of improper use. Every time you put something into your body, food, fluids, drugs, etc, via ingestion or other alternative routes, for example, injections, it has to be metabolize and broken down by the body, absorbed, assimilated and the final waste products produced are eventually cleared and eliminated via the liver or kidney.

2. How does proper administering of medicines help our patients in their recovery?

It will help them to be better if they will take it everyday. Their health will improve if there is proper care for the patient and proper on taking their medicines daily. The home nurse must not forget to let the patient take its medicine. Taking their medicines daily will improve their health, and it can also extend their life. Our life is important, that's why care for it and always remember in taking your medicines daily.

The administration of medication is often a chief responsibility of the home nurse. The practice of administering medication involves providing the patient with a substance prescribed and intended for the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of a medical illness or condition. It will help the patient cure its sickness and live more.
